Your seller identity, behind the scenes
A Workspace is the private entity behind a seller’s commerce presence on SWIM. It’s not a storefront — buyers never see it. It’s the company, the legal name, the billing contact, the team — everything that makes a seller a real business rather than just a public page.
When you sign up as a seller, you create an account. Inside that account, you create a Workspace. Inside that Workspace, you create Streams. The hierarchy is: account → workspace → stream. Each layer has a distinct purpose, and keeping them separate is what gives SWIM sellers flexibility without chaos.
One account, many possibilities
A single SWIM account can hold multiple Workspaces. This matters for sellers who run more than one business. A person who operates both a vintage clothing shop and a freelance design practice can manage both from the same login — as separate Workspaces, with separate teams, separate billing, and separate Stream URLs.
A single Workspace can also have multiple Streams. A seller might run one Stream for physical goods and another for digital downloads, each with its own URL and its own offer catalog. Both Streams roll up to the same Workspace for billing and team management.
What’s managed at the Workspace level
Everything that belongs to the business entity lives at the Workspace level, not the Stream level:
- Billing — payment method, invoices, and SWIM plan
- Team — invite team members and set their access levels
- Legal identity — business name, tax information, and contact details
- Drop economy settings — Workspace-level configuration for how your Drop economy operates
Streams inherit from their parent Workspace. If you update your billing information, it applies to all Streams under that Workspace. If a team member needs access to manage offers, you grant it at the Workspace level and it flows down to all associated Streams.
