Streams

A seller’s public-facing storefront

A Stream is a seller’s storefront on SWIM — the public face of everything they sell. Every seller who creates a Stream gets a permanent URL at /streams/:slug, where their slug is a short, human-readable identifier they choose when setting up their store.

Streams are designed to be shared. A seller can put their Stream URL in a bio, a newsletter, a printed card, or a direct message. Anyone can visit a Stream without an account. Buying requires Drops, but browsing is always open.

What lives in a Stream

A Stream contains offers — the individual things a seller sells or makes available. Offers can be physical products, digital downloads, services, or experiences. Each offer has its own Drop price, images, and description. Sellers control exactly what’s listed, when it’s published, and how it’s priced.

Streams are intentionally focused. There’s no algorithm deciding which offers get shown first, no sponsored placement, no competing ads. A buyer who visits a Stream sees the seller’s store, curated by the seller.

Streams and Workspaces

Every Stream is owned by a Workspace — the seller’s private company or legal identity. A single account can have multiple Workspaces (for example, a person who runs two separate businesses), and each Workspace can have multiple Streams (for example, one for physical goods and one for digital downloads).

The Stream is what the public sees. The Workspace is what the seller manages behind the scenes: billing, team members, and legal identity. The two are linked but distinct — changing Workspace details doesn’t change what buyers see on the Stream.

A Stream goes live when the seller publishes it. Until then, it exists as a draft and is not accessible at its public URL.
