Currents & Waves
Coming Soon
SWIM’s commerce infrastructure is live. What comes next builds on the same foundation — more surfaces for sellers to reach buyers, more ways for buyers to participate, more channels for value to flow.
Currents
Currents is SWIM’s publishing platform — a seller-owned newsletter and content channel, sitting alongside Streams at /currents/:slug. Think Substack, but the seller controls the subscriber relationship and the revenue. Currents is designed for sellers who have something to say as well as something to sell: long-form product stories, release announcements, community updates.
Currents is not blogging for its own sake. It’s a way for sellers to build a relationship with their buyers over time, deepen trust, and give the Drop economy a narrative thread.
Waves
Waves is the music, video, and film vertical — a separate surface for audio and visual creators at /waves/:slug/tracks/:id. Licensing mechanics for creative work are fundamentally different from physical and digital goods, so Waves has its own track-based architecture. Artists can sell exclusive releases, early access, and licensing rights through the same Drop economy that powers Streams.
What else is coming
- Live events — tickets, virtual event access, and real-time experiences. Architecture is under review — may be an offer type within Streams or a dedicated Waves sub-surface.
- Expanded payment methods — additional payment processors beyond the initial set, including more crypto rails and bank-direct options, in service of the Payment Plurality pillar.
- Governance tooling — the first seller voting mechanisms for platform policy decisions, as described in Modular Governance.
The water keeps moving. Stay close.
